Posted 08-Jul-2026 (CST) Activities Department 2600 North Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb, IL, USA 15.87-20.95 per hour Hourly Paid time off and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (state pension program) Are you a self-motivated, fun, creative, high-energy, social individual with a positive attitude? DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to cover the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, three times per week (23.25 hours total) for our Alzheimer's unit which serves dementia patients. If you are an energetic, creative, organized, patient person looking to enhance the lives of our aging population, please look no further. Responsibilities Facilitate recreational programs for our residents along with required documentation and assessments. Promote social engagement through a meaningful program of activities designed for individuals with memory impairment. Enhance the self-esteem and overall sense of wellbeing of the residents. Assist with planning the Activity Calendar and facility-wide events. Qualifications Good communication and documentation skills are essential. Willingness to learn on the job. Experience with the geriatric population (preferred, but not required). Experience with LTC/Memory Care (preferred, but not required).
