Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Therapeutic Activity Aide at the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL. The hourly schedule is 1 PM

• 9 PM, five days a week.

Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements. The hourly rate is $17.25/hr. Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations

• the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents.

The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community. Responsibilities include:

Participate in development of new vocational and recreational programs and processes, individual and small/large groups and special events. Promote active participation as appropriate and unique to each client and their function and potential abilities. Evaluate and provide creative therapeutic equipment, supplies and materials for clients, as needed. Maintain supplies needed for residential activities and community outings. Drive clients, staff and volunteers to and from pre-approved community outing sites. Document all activities and outings in an accurate and timely manner.
