Marklund in Elgin is hiring a Therapeutic Activity Aide! Would you like to make a difference in the lives of others and be appreciated for what you do? Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Therapeutic Activity Aide at the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL. The hourly schedule is 1 PM- 9 PM, five days a week.
Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations- the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents.
Responsibilities include:
Participate in development of new vocational and recreational programs and processes, individual and small/large groups and special events. Promote active participation as appropriate and unique to each client and their function and potential abilities. Evaluate and provide creative therapeutic equipment, supplies and materials for clients, as needed. Maintain supplies needed for residential activities and community outings. Drive clients, staff and volunteers to and from pre-approved community outing sites. Document all activities and outings in an accurate and timely manner.
