Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the RFC Fitness Operations Supervisor, The Fitness Floor Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming fitness environment for members and guests. This role provides excellent customer service, assists members with basic fitness floor orientation, and helps ensure equipment and workout spaces are properly maintained throughout the facility. The H-F Park District's mission statement is "to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment".
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous, and helpful service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fitness floor and workout areas. Re-rack weights, dumbbells, plates, and other equipment throughout shifts. Wipe down and sanitize fitness equipment and machines regularly. Empty garbage and replace liners as needed. Refill disinfectant wipes and cleaning stations throughout the facility. Keep shared spaces tidy and free of clutter. Organize fitness storage closets and equipment areas. Provide basic fitness floor orientations and demonstrate proper use of cardio and strength equipment. Greet and interact positively with members and guests. Answer questions regarding facility policies, programs, activities, and current events. Help reinforce club policies and promote proper fitness floor etiquette. Monitor fitness areas to promote a safe and respectful workout environment. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to supervisors. Assist staff with special events, promotions, or department needs as assigned. Other related job duties as assigned.
COGNITIVE SKILLS REQUIRED
Likes to work with and serve the public. Must be able to work independently, be a self-starter and work as part of the team.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Strong customer service and communication skills Friendly, approachable, and professional attitude Ability to work independently and stay proactive during shifts General knowledge of fitness and exercise equipment preferred Ability to lift and move fitness equipment and weights as needed Knowledge of strength and cardio equipment operation Ability to create a welcoming and motivating atmosphere for members of all fitness levels.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Experience working in a fitness, recreation, or customer service environment CPR/AED, First Aid Certified or ability to acquire upon hire.
