Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces. Our KASPER program (Kids' After School Program with Enrichment and Recreation) provides before and after school care to over 900 children at the following SD54 schools and sites: Aldrin, Blackwell, Campanelli, Churchill, Collins, Dirksen, Dooley, Enders Salk, Hale, Hoover and Nerge schools, and the Community Recreation Center and Meineke Recreation Center.JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, the KASPER Administration Support staff assists the Community Outreach and Enrichment Supervisor and Assistant Program Manager with the day-to-day operations of the KASPER office. Responsibilities include responding to incoming KASPER phone calls and emails, greeting and assisting patrons, maintaining accurate attendance records, processing and updating program registrations, and performing a variety of general administrative and clerical duties.LOCATION
Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg IL (and other KASPER sites in the district)QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a valid Illinois driver's license. The best applicants will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with working knowledge of the following computer applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Active Net (preferred). Attention to detail, organization, professionalism, the ability to work effectively with families and staff, and the ability to work independently and self-direct are essential. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Preference will be given to bilingual candidates.SCHEDULING & PAY
This is a year-round part-time position paying $18.00-$21.00 per hour depending on qualifications (DOQ). The schedule is generally Monday-Friday, 9:30 am-4:00 pm, about 25-32 hours per week.PERKS & PRIVILEGES
