The Student Worker at Kirmayer Fitness Center supports the daily operations of the campus recreation facility by providing exceptional customer service and assisting with facility oversight. The student worker helps create a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons while supporting fitness center staff with operational tasks and promoting a positive recreational experience.
Job Description:
Job Duties Outlined Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and guests entering the facility. Monitor fitness areas to ensure safe equipment use and adherence to facility policies. Clean and sanitize fitness equipment and common areas regularly. Check out and organize recreational equipment and supplies. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Respond to questions regarding facility programs, services, and policies. Enforce university recreation center rules and safety procedures. Report maintenance issues, accidents, or concerns to supervisors promptly. Support special events, intramural activities, and wellness programs as needed. Required Qualifications Education:
Must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The level of degree is commonly recognized as the standard qualification for similar roles in the public and private sector, ensuring that the university remains competitive with industry aligned practices, enhances collaboration with external partners, and supports the delivery of services and programs that meet professional and market-driven expectations.

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
