Activities Attendant City of Lenexa - 3.9 Lenexa, KS Job Details Part-time $15.50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description The Activities Attendant supports recreation programs and facility operations at Lenexa facilities by providing customer service, supervising activities and events, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Schedule:
This is a part-time, year-round position supporting our Gym for Me program. Work hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on programming needs. The hours for this position will primarily take place: Mondays and Wednesdays 8:45am - 11:15am at the Lenexa Old Town Activity Center. Tuesdays 8:15am - 11:30am at the Lenexa Rec Center.
Position Summary:
Under the general guidance of the Recreation Specialist, the Activities Attendant supports birthday parties, events, and recreation programs by preparing spaces, monitoring gymnasium areas, enforcing facility rules, and maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
Provide customer service and supervision during programs, parties, and events Open, close, and monitor gymnasium and activity spaces Set up, adjust, clean, and tear down equipment, tables, and chairs Monitor participants to ensure a safe and secure environment Enforce facility, equipment, and program rules Complete required reports and documentation Operate and maintain equipment and supplies Administer First Aid and CPR when necessary Assist with facility-wide events and other facility needs
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age Ability to communicate clearly with participants, parents, and staff Ability to provide positive customer service First Aid/AED Certification required within 60 days of hire The rate of pay is $15.50 per hour.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
Work is performed in a busy community and activity center environment. This position requires frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting and moving of tables, chairs, and activity equipment, and the ability to set up and tear down event spaces. Duties may include repetitive motions, extended periods of standing or sitting, exposure to noise, temperature changes, and general activity-related hazards.
