Job Description
Activities Assistant:
Founded in 1884, Christian Care Communities is Kentucky's largest faith-inspired, not-for-profit provider of affordable senior retirement living and long-term care for Older Adults. The Activities Assistant is responsible for providing services that meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psycho-social wellbeing of each resident to promote and maintain the residents' sense of usefulness to self and others while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday 10:30am-7:00pm 1. Assists in planning, scheduling, conducting and supervising activities/events for residents which provide entertainment, intercommunication, exercises, relaxation, intellectual development, and utilization of their talents 2. Assists the Activity Director in the community the planning related to the interests of the Facility and the services and needs of the residents and families 3. Encourages residents' religious participation, coordinates with Chaplain, and provides spiritual material to residents at their request 4. Arranges transportation to outside events/activities when necessary 5. Assists in planning and performing activities for room-bound residents including writing letters, running errands, reading, and securing material for residents with sensory and hearing deficiencies 6. Encourages resident participation in activities when practical 7. Responsible for the understanding of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) which consists of three basic components: the Minimum Data Set (MDS) Version 3.0, the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process, and the RAI Utilization Guidelines 8. Assures appropriate charting documentation of activity related forms and assessments 9. Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate and friendlyPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required Education:
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)Preferred Education:
Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical schoolRequired Experience:
1 year related experiencePreferred Experience:
2 years' experience in a social or recreational program setting, at least one of which was in a /resident activity program in a health care settingPreferred Certification or Licensures:
