Nazareth Home is seeking a compassionate, creative Activities Assistant to join our Highlands team and support residents through meaningful, medically‑approved recreation programs. This role helps enhance quality of life by promoting social engagement, emotional well‑being, and therapeutic activity participation. Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and passionate about working with older adults in a long‑term care environment. What You'll Do Lead group and individual activities such as arts & crafts, games, music, drama, and light exercise Adapt activities to residents' abilities, interests, and care plans Assist with sensory stimulation, art therapy, and music therapy programs Teach simple relaxation and stress‑reduction techniques Help create the monthly activity calendar Document resident participation and progress for the care team Support volunteers and student interns Manage activity supplies and equipment needs What Makes You a Great Fit Enjoy working with seniors in a long‑term care or healthcare setting Creative, outgoing, and comfortable leading group activities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and engage residents with varying abilities Organized, dependable, and able to document resident progress accurately
THESE ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
One to two years' experience and/or training Certification from state approved course, preferred Current Kentucky Driver's License's with a Class B CDL endorsement, preferred
