Job Description
Activities Assistant Blackstone Valley Health & Rehabilitation | Whitinsville, MA Blackstone Valley Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older adults and is passionate about enhancing residents' quality of life through engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic activities. Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily activity programs for residents. Encourage resident participation in individual and group activities. Help coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and entertainment. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members. Maintain activity supplies and assist with decorating for seasonal events. Document resident participation and communicate changes or concerns to the Activities Director. Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed. Support the Activities Director with department projects and special events. Perform other duties as assigned to support the Activities Department and the overall needs of the facility. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and dependable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to assist residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
