POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Day Camp Director, the Day Camp Coordinator will help lead the summer day camp hosted at the Tewksbury Rec Center. Responsibilities include planning programming, scheduling, assisting in maintaining safety, and a positive relationship between the public and families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure counselors follow Camp regulations, policy and procedures and are fulfilling the expectations of the program. Provide camper behavior management when needed escalation is required. Assist Camp Director in leading staff training exercises. Plan, schedule, and lead on-site events and projects as needed. Follow established health and safety standards of the YMCA and Dept. of Public Health. Ensure all facilities and grounds are clean, maintained, and safe during the season. Attending all required staff training and meetings. Read and sign all policies related to identifying, discriminating, and reporting child abuse. Report any instance of child abuse. Attend Child Abuse Prevention training annually. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 20 years of age. Two years of performing arts or similar program related experience preferred. Familiar with DPH regulations for camps. Completion of CPR, First Aid, AED, 51A, Heads Up concussion, and Redwoods Trainings after hire. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
