Great with kids? Looking for a part-time job where you can be active, have fun, and make a difference? Waltham Boys & Girls Club is looking for an energetic and dependable Sports & Recreation Coordinator to create fun, engaging sports, fitness, and recreation experiences for our elementary-aged members. This isn't a job where you'll spend your afternoon sitting behind a desk. You'll be in the gym, on the field, and alongside our kids, leading games, teaching new skills, encouraging teamwork, and helping young people build confidence. What You'll Do You'll help make the Club a place kids are excited to come to every day.
You will:
Plan and lead daily sports, recreation, fitness, and wellness activities Create games, challenges, and skill-building activities that keep kids active and engaged Introduce youth to different sports and help them build new skills Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and healthy competition Adapt activities based on kids' interests, group size, weather, and available space Set up equipment and help keep program spaces organized and safe Build positive relationships with Club members and serve as a mentor and role model Work alongside other Club staff on special programs and events Help transport members from school to the Club in a Club vehicle The position is highly hands-on and includes actively supervising members during transportation, programming, and other Club activities. You Might Be a Great Fit If You... Enjoy working with kids and know how to bring energy to a group Love sports, games, fitness, or recreation Are positive, reliable, organized, and ready to jump in Can lead a group while keeping safety and supervision a priority Believe sports should be about more than winning and can help kids learn teamwork, confidence, and perseverance Are comfortable receiving feedback and working as part of a team What We're Looking For At least 18 years old Experience working with school-aged youth (K-5) Familiarity with a variety of sports and group games Strong communication and group leadership skills Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions-focused in a busy environment Clean driving record for at least four years Ability to successfully complete required background checks Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Schedule & Pay School Year Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:30 PM Additional hours may be available or required during school vacation weeks, no-school days, and special programs.
Pay:
$20-$26/hour, based on experience. The position includes driving a Club vehicle to transport members. Waltham Boys & Girls Club will facilitate the required 7D certification. Why Work at the Club?
