Life Enrichment Assistant Reports To:
Life Enrichment Manager Overview We are currently looking for a dedicated Life Enrichment Assistant to assist our Life Enrichment Manager in leading our team in creating enriching experiences for our senior residents. The Life Enrichment Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life and well-being of our community members through the development and coordination of engaging programs and events. In this role, you will assist in organizing on-site activities and off-site excursions, seeking to build a sense of community while enriching the lives of our residents. These activities may include crafts, game nights, exercise classes, or cultural enrichment (such as museum exhibits, book readings, or cooking classes). You must have a flexible schedule around the holidays, as seasonal entertainment can significantly uplift the spirits of our residents. Applicants should have some experience in recreation as well as an energetic, positive attitude. Responsibilities
  • Assist Life Enrichment Manager in designing and executing a comprehensive calendar of activities tailored to the interests and needs of senior residents
  • Help organize social gatherings, educational sessions, and recreational events to promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness
  • Collaborate with staff members to ensure activities align with the overall care plan for residents
  • Maintain detailed records of activity participation, feedback, and resident preferences
  • Provide support and guidance to residents, including those with dementia or memory care needs
  • Assist with event planning, including logistics, budgeting, and coordination with external vendors Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Experience in recreation, hospitality, or a similar field (1+ years preferred)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in long-term care or senior care settings, with a strong background in social work or caregiving
  • Proficiency in event planning and coordination within a home community care environment
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to empathize with aging individuals and provide emotional support when necessary
