Activities Assistant Pickersgill, Inc. - 5.0 Towson, MD Job Details Part-time $18 - $19 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications English High school diploma or GED Non-CDL Class C Full Job Description The Activity Assistant position is part-time (2 days per week) and the hours will be 11am-7pm Job Requirements 1. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2. Two years' experience in recreational/activity programming for the elderly preferred. 3. Possess a valid class C driver's license. 4. Able to read, write, speak and understand English. 5. Knowledge of a wide range of arts/crafts and audio-visual equipment. 6. Knowledge and understanding of the Aged and the aging process. 7. MVA record to demonstrate clean driving record.

Job Functions:

1. Plan, coordinate and implement activity programs including remotivating therapy and reality orientation. 2. Work effectively with residents, staff, volunteers, visitors and supervisors. 3. Treat residents with compassion, warmth and understanding. 4. Plan and coordinate some domiciliary and comprehensive care activities. 5. Procure materials and services required for activity programs. 6. Care for and maintain recreational facilities and equipment. 7. Maintain record of resident attendance at activities. 8. Implement special events. 9. Publicize events and activities. 10. Provide for resident transportation to and from activities. 11. Coordinate scheduling of meeting rooms. 12. Schedule and drive van for various activities. 13. Attend mandatory in-service training sessions. 14. Instruct volunteers and staff in the proper use of arts/crafts and audio-visual equipment. 15. Supervise volunteers and staff assisting with programs.
