POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the operation and supervision of regional sports services across multiple centers. Will provide direct leadership to promote and deliver sports programs, including preschool, school-aged, parent/child, and leagues. Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team that is focused on providing a superior member experience at all times. Will be accountable for member engagement and retention initiatives relative to sports and related programming.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the sports management field. 2. Five or more years of sports instructional experience. 3. Two or more years of supervisory, program development, and/or leadership experience in an applicable field. 4. Experience in member service & engagement and quality management. 5. Extensive knowledge of youth sports and the youth sports industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leadership and Administrative Responsibility Communication and Supervision of instructors Direct supervision of sports instructors within the assigned region Administration and management of class enrollment numbers and DayForce (payroll); maintenance of regional schedules Managing and facilitating sub procedures The Director will be required to maintain and teach as needed. Updating schedules in software platforms including Daxko, GroupEx Pro & Excel. Data Entry and Metrics Ensuring accuracy of class attendance and metrics Sports % utilization/enrollment by center month-over-month Maintenance of Regional schedules Utilization of attendance data to analyze trends and gaps for general and seasonal schedule revisions Expansion of regional sports offerings Instructor Training Compliance and Quality Control Compliance with certifications, CPR/1st Aid requirements, and standards of delivery; timesheet management Hiring process, interviews, and consistent onboarding protocols Monthly evaluations, instructor feedback/coaching Performance management/reviews Collaboration/Marketing Monthly/bi-monthly feedback loop with Program Director and Executive Director for space utilization and member feedback; regional/group, individual as needed Facilitate cross-department education -membership/fitness/program as needed Providing marketing materials to center leadership for sports promotion.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Possess sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of the position and to supervise program activities. Required to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, push and lift up to 50 pounds. Physically able to successfully complete required certifications. Occasionally required to work in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Exposed to and use of cleaning supplies. Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking. Must be able to perform the duties of those he/she supervises. Flexible work schedule requiring evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for the completion of assigned goals as measured by the number of people served, community impact survey results, net promoter scores, safety and quality audits, meeting budgetary requirements and supervisor evaluation of assigned duties and core competencies. An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meet minimum requirements for the position including a background check, driver's license record, CPS and/or criminal background check. Additional driver's license check, CPS, criminal background check, alcohol/drug testing may be required to be processed in the future in order to meet and/or maintain the requirements of this position.
