Job Description

Overview We are seeking an energetic, organized, and community-minded professional to serve as our next Assistant Recreation Director. This position plays a key leadership role in the Recreation Department by supervising program staff, supporting youth and adult recreation programming and special events, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department. The Assistant Recreation Director works closely with the Recreation Director to deliver high-quality recreational opportunities for the community and serves as the Director's designee when needed. Responsibilities Manageand assistwiththe Town's childcare services programs. Assist in recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, andevaluating recreationalstaff. Develop program procedures, safety practices, and participant records. Communicate with families and provide exceptional customer service. Assist with budgeting, program planning, and special events. Support the development and delivery of youth and adult recreation programs. Utilize recreation management software and assist participants with registration and program questions. Serve as acting Recreation Director in the Director's absence. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required;collegedegree preferred. Degree orcertificate in recreation managementis desirable. Three to five years of experience in recreation, childcare programming, youth services, or a related field. Supervisory experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively with staff, families, participants, and community members. Valid Maine driver's license required. $57,100.00 - $63,898.00 per year
