Islebrook Village is Maine's newest senior living community. We offer Independent and Assisted Living as well as Memory Care. We are seeking a dynamic activities professional to join our team. Some weekends work will be required. The LEAP Assistant supports the Life Enrichment Activities Program (LEAP) by assisting with the planning, preparation, and delivery of meaningful, engaging programs that enhance residents' quality of life. This role works closely with the LEAP Director and activities team to encourage resident participation, support individual interests, and create positive daily experiences. LEAP Assistants play an important role in fostering connection, joy, and purpose by actively engaging with residents during programs, offering encouragement, and helping ensure activities run smoothly and safely. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist with the setup, facilitation, and cleanup of individual and group activities, events, and programs. Actively participate in activities alongside residents, modeling enthusiasm, encouragement, and engagement. Encourage resident involvement by offering invitations, reminders, and personal encouragement. Support one-to-one engagement for residents who may require individualized attention. Assist with special events, outings, entertainers, celebrations, and community programs. Build positive, respectful relationships with residents through conversation, companionship, and shared activities. Observe residents during activities and report changes in mood, behavior, participation, or functional status to the LEAP Director or nursing staff as appropriate. Support residents' dignity, choice, and independence during all programming. Assist with preparing activity spaces, gathering supplies, and maintaining organized program materials. Help distribute activity calendars, newsletters, and resident communications as directed. Document resident participation and engagement as required by community policy. Follow all safety policies and procedures during activities, outings, and events. Assist with emergency procedures and participate in emergency preparedness drills as directed. Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, volunteers, and team members. Collaborate with other departments to support resident engagement and community events. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and in-services as scheduled, including those that may occur outside regular work hours. Perform other duties as assigned to support resident engagement and community operations. Core Competencies and Expectations

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
- Interest in working with older adults and supporting resident engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and adapt to changing needs.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn scheduling and documentation systems.
- Must have consistent, reliable transportation to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license may be required. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and communicate for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, or lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to resident needs and emergencies.
- Ability to assist residents during activities or outings as required.
