Part-Time Position Overview:
The Activity Aide is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and assessment of engaging recreational activities for residents in a long-term care setting. Working under the guidance of the Activity Director, the Activity Aide ensures that programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of residents, fostering their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Activity Director to plan, implement, and evaluate recreational activities. Encourage and assist residents in participating in group and individual activities. Prepare activity spaces, including setup and cleanup. Support the coordination and execution of special events and outings. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and engagement. Assist with the care and upkeep of activity supplies and equipment. Conduct one-on-one visits with residents unable to join group activities. Contribute to the development and enhancement of activity programming. Attend mandatory in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with older adults or in a long-term care setting preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Organizational skills with attention to detail and time management capabilities. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time. Capability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
Additional Requirements:
Local travel may be required for special events or outings. Must maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and comply with applicable laws and regulations. #WWH
