: This position is open to all part-time and full-time employees in the City of Dearborn Recreation & Parks department.
CLASS SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining the operations of an assigned area. Responsibilities may include supervising part-time staff; monitoring daily operations; and maintaining inventory.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.) Supervises part-time staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; coordinating staff training; and supporting personnel procedures. Monitors daily operations, including: ensuring proper maintenance of food and/or recreation facilities and equipment; assisting in creating schedules for public use of facilities; and performing related tasks. Orders food, beverages, and other items to ensure maintenance of proper inventory levels. Performs marketing and sales functions, including: planning and reviewing communication materials to promote the department services; meeting with organizations to describe available services and costs and prepare contracts; and/or selling advertisement spaces to organizations, which may include outside sales responsibilities. Performs other tasks for a department, including: preparing bank deposits, payroll reports, and other documents; responding to customer inquiries; and performing related tasks. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings. Requires evening and/or weekend shifts. This job description is intended to represent only the key areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the business needs of the department. Qualifications
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
: Associate's degree in Business Management; or, High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and 2 years of related experience; or, all required certification(s); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. For Conference & Banquet Sales Coordinator at Ford Performing Arts Center a minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience is required.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
: Valid State of Michigan Driver's License
