Position Overview:
We're on the lookout for a friendly, reliable, and animal-loving Doggy Day Camp Counselor to join our growing team! This role is all about ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of dogs in our care—whether they're staying for the day or overnight. If you're enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and love working with animals in a dynamic environment, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for an afternoon Camp Counselor with the primary hours being 12pm-8pm 2-4 nights per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise group play sessions to ensure a safe and fun environment for all dogs Interact and play with dogs to provide both physical and mental stimulation Recognize and respond appropriately to dog behavior, intervening to prevent issues Provide individualized care based on each dog's temperament, needs, and preferences Maintain clean and sanitized play areas, cabins, and equipment throughout the day Assist with feeding routines, medication administration, and basic grooming as needed Communicate effectively with pet parents, offering updates and answering questions Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to deliver exceptional pet care Participate in ongoing training to improve animal handling and customer service skills
Qualifications:
Prior professional experience with dogs (e.g., daycare, boarding, veterinary clinic) preferred Personal experience managing multiple dogs at home or training is also considered Solid understanding of dog behavior, body language, and safe handling techniques Ability to work with dogs (and the occasional cat!) of all sizes and temperaments Friendly, reliable, and a true team player with a strong work ethic Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Must be able to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and afternoon/evening shifts as needed Must be at least 18 years of age Perks of Working at
