Full Job Description Job Summary:

The Program Instructor is responsible for leading engaging recreational youth activities. This position serves as a program leader, creating a fun, safe, and structured environment for participants while supporting the overall goals of the Parks and Recreation Department.

Exempt Work Schedule:

Part Time -Weekdays, some evenings or weekends required for special events

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise youth participants during programs and special events
• Implement pre-planned age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts
• Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants
• Always ensure the safety and well-being of all children
• Manage group behavior using positive guidance techniques
• Set up and clean up program spaces and materials
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and staff
• Follow program schedules and adapt activities as needed
• Respond to incidents or emergencies according to department procedure Qualifications
• Experience working with children in a camp, childcare, or recreational setting preferred
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage groups of children in a structured setting
• Energetic, creative, and enthusiastic personality
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Ability to be active for extended periods (running, playing games, supervising activities)
• Ability to lift and carry program supplies (light to moderate lifting)
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
