Job Description

The City of Crestwood Parks and Recreation Department is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Recreation Specialist for Day Camp and Sports programming. The ideal applicant should thrive in a collaborative team setting and help the City transition from the current community center to the new facility set to open in 2027. Responsible for the development, marketing and implementation of a broad range of recreation programs and services including, but not limited to Sports, and Day Camp. Maintains many statistical reports and schedules. Performs program research and market research. Enforces department policies and procedures. Recruits, interviews and monitors seasonal employees and independent contractors. Developing weekly camp schedules, camp activities and sports programs. Responsible for supervising community center and recreation staff in the absence of the Recreation Manager and Director. Work includes weeknights, weekends, holidays and irregular hours. Bachelor's Degree in parks and recreation, physical education, hospitality management, marketing, business, or related field required; two years of experience as a recreation coordinator, programs coordinator, special events coordinator, or related customer service is preferred (in lieu of a degree, at least six years of experience is required). Must have or be able to obtain a Missouri driver's license within 30 days of hire. Certification in CPR/AED and first aid required; CPRP preferred.
Pay:
$51,190.00 - $53,750.00 per year
