Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Aide to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our nursing home facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities and social interactions. This role is essential in promoting a positive environment that fosters community, creativity, and well-being. Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Transport residents to and from appointments/hospital and etc under the direction of the Activity Director. Must have a Class E drivers license or willing to obtain. Facilitate group activities under the direction of Activity Director, such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and exercise programs. Support residents in participating in activities by providing encouragement and assistance as needed. Document participation levels and feedback from residents to help improve future programming. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers and therapy to ensure activities align with individual care plans. Maintain a safe and clean environment during all activities, ensuring that all materials are properly stored after use. Engage with residents on a personal level to build rapport and encourage social interaction among peers. Qualifications Previous experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or senior care setting is preferred. Class E Driver's License or willing to obtain is a must. CPR Certification or willing to obtain a must. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with seniors compassionately. Experience in event planning or organizing group activities is beneficial. Ability to assist residents with mobility or physical limitations during activities. A positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with older adults are essential traits for success in this role. Knowledge of memory care techniques is advantageous but not required.
