Responsibilities will include serving as the primary communications contact for assigned sports, as well as serving as a secondary contact for the other intercollegiate athletic teams. The successful candidate must be highly organized and driven with exceptional multi-tasking and communication skills. This position will work under the Director of Sports Information and help with the supervision of student assistants. The candidate must have strong knowledge of social media platforms, and the candidate will assist with managing, creating and strategizing creative digital content for the department's social media channels, as well as having writing and video editing skills and knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and Stat Crew. Additional duties include but are not limited to: writing features and press releases; record keeping and tracking statistics; participating in some public address, radio, and/or video work; assisting with any media request for coaches and student-athletes; and other projects and duties as assigned. The successful candidate(s) will ensure compliance with the NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, University of Missouri and Missouri S&T policies, guidelines, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications or journalism One (1) year experience in intercollegiate media relations or communications Served as a primary communications contact for a sport at a previous school Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $20.00-$21.50 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
