Job Description
Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Sports Information and Gameday Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the sports information function, including media relations, statistical reporting, digital content, and game-day communications. This role plays a key part in promoting athletic programs, ensuring accurate reporting, and enhancing the visibility of the university's athletics initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities This job description does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Assist the university in implementing the statement and purpose Assist the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans. Assist with game-day operations for all intercollegiate athletic events Compile, manage, and distribute accurate statistics for home athletic contests Report official scores and statistics to the NAIA, SSAC, and other governing bodies in a timely manner Maintain compliance with NAIA, SSAC, and institutional reporting requirements Maintain and update records of team and individual athletic achievements Assist in the management of athletics-related social media platforms, providing timely and engaging content Serve as the contact for athletics media and public relations, coordinating with local, regional, and national media outlets Collaborate with coaching staff to promote team stories and accomplishments Oversee live statistics and provide real-time updates through approved platforms during competitions Assist in the development and distribution of athletics communications, including recaps, releases, and feature content Other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to use common office productivity software, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and people Ability to learn new statistical software Must be willing to work nights and weekends Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field Experience in college and university athletics programs Ability to compose press releases concerning athletic events Experience in the field of sports information Physical Demands Must have ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Must have strength and ability to lift and carry 50 pounds Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer and printer Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone Must be able to perform duties in an on-campus setting
