Job Description

Summary Responsible for the daily operation of the fitness/activity center including public relations and operations. Incumbent in this position is also responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of the performance of center employees. 40 hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain center for use by faculty, staff, students, and the public as determined appropriate by Administration. Direct and supervise the operations of fitness/activity center employees and ensure duties are performed in conformance with established procedures with appropriate documentation. Plans, oversees and coordinates ongoing professional training and development programs including appropriate certification training as required to meet all local, state and federal requirements for all staff. Ensure that appropriate documentation is prepared, filed and maintained. Conducts appropriate equipment maintenance, repair and risk management assessment for fitness programs. Coordinates fitness equipment purchases and maintains an inventory of equipment and related supplies. Coordinates the development of non-credit activities and classes for faculty, staff, students and the public. Responsible for being current on all local, state and federal regulations impacting the institution and making recommendations as needed. Directs scheduling for facility use. Participates in the creation of operational budget as well as monitoring expenses and making recommendations as needed. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Associate degree preferred A minimum of 2-3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Or High School diploma A minimum of 3-5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Records maintenance skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Database management skills. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
