Job Description

Gym Supervisor - Senior Programs (Part-time)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee is responsible for unlocking and opening facility; setting up for the program(s), including any equipment needed; answering questions concerning rules and regulations of the sport(s); putting away equipment after use; closing/locking up gym at the end of the program. Employee must be available Monday -Friday 10am-12noon.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee will assist in setting up programs by getting out radio, set up/take down equipment for sport as needed, prepare sign-in sheet, hang flyers, collect forms, communicate with participants, visitors and staff, maintains and/or signs up new members etc.; sweep floors and clean up trash; frequently inspects the immediate areas around the gym as part of clean up routine; Performs other duties as directed by the Senior/Special Events Coordinator. Employee will adhere to Parks & Recreation Department policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of safety - making sure participants are in a safe environment, as well as to be able to identify an unsafe situation as needed; ability to communicate with the public/staff; proficient in writing skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public/staff.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Must have a High School Degree or equivalent, CPR and Basic First Aid training preferred. Part-Time , approx. 8-10 hours per week; Monday - Friday 10 am-12 noon during School Months (End of August- May); closed during the summer months as well as holidays. Additional hours may be required if needed. Starting wage is $12 per hour The Town of Southern Pines is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
