Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Doggie Day Camp Counselor to provide exceptional care and engaging activities for dogs in our day camp program. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for animals, especially dogs, and have experience in animal handling, pet care, and outdoor activities. As a Doggie Day Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for supervising dogs during playtime, ensuring their safety, and creating a positive environment that promotes socialization and well-being. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic pet care setting where your enthusiasm and animal expertise will make a meaningful difference. Responsibilities Supervise dogs during outdoor play sessions, ensuring safe interactions and proper behavior management. Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and daily pet care routines to maintain high standards of animal welfare. Handle dogs using appropriate restraint techniques and animal handling skills to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Maintain cleanliness of the facility by sanitizing kennels, play areas, and equipment in accordance with health standards. Support pet grooming, feeding, medication administration, and other animal care tasks as needed. Educate pet owners on dog behavior, training techniques, and proper pet handling practices. Participate in team lifting activities when moving large or heavy equipment or supplies to ensure safety. Engage dogs in training exercises that promote good behavior and socialization skills while monitoring their activity levels outdoors. Qualifications Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable. Experience in pet sitting, kennel work, or animal care facilities demonstrates relevant skills. Knowledge of dog training techniques and understanding of animal behavior patterns. Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage multiple dogs safely and effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or equipment safely. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Experience with pet grooming, sanitation practices for pet care facilities, and outdoor work environments is preferred. A background in veterinary assisting or animal restraint techniques is advantageous. $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
