In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can explore new activities, develop essential skills, and build lasting friendships. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience in education, childcare, and youth development. Must be 21 in order to transport children on field trips. An opportunity to continue employment in the fall when the camp transitions to afterschool care is a possibility. A qualifying criminal background check is required. Duties Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures to promote physical activity and creativity. Foster a welcoming atmosphere by engaging children in age-appropriate games, discussions, and team-building exercises. Ensure the safety of all campers by supervising activities closely and implementing proper behavior management techniques. Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules, activities and maintain a clean and organized environment. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper participation, behavior, and any concerns that arise. Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable. Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management to create a positive environment for all participants. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents and staff. A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their growth through fun educational experiences.
