Full Time (30 Hours or More) Job Requirements and Properties Work Onsite Full Time Schedule Full Time Job Description . Colby-Sawyer College seeks an Assistant Director of Student Activities & Orientation. The Assistant Director serves as advisor to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and a resource person to student clubs and organizations that provides outreach, guidance of vision and goals, and logistical assistance. The Assistant Director serves as the initial contact for students, faculty, agents, families and community members. The Assistant Director supports Student Activities traditions and initiatives such as Mountain Day, Ski Day, Alcohol Awareness, International Education and Community Weeks, in addition to CAB programming such as Wacky Bingo, Pancake Night, Trivia, Lodge Theme Nights, and drop-in crafts. Responsibilities
  • Advise Campus Activities Board by supporting member retention, event management, assessment, and budget.
  • Coordinate student club and organizations event processes by meeting with student groups to provide assistance with event details, budgeting, advertising, set-up requests, relevant campus guidelines.
  • Complete requirements for office and club contracts.
  • Manage event facility and resource reservations.
  • Maintain financial records; process invoices and purchase orders; and run reports for fundraising.
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring and training of the Orientation Board, Orientation Leaders and Fun Runners team.
  • Assist with the development of New Student Orientation and first-year initiatives.
  • Coordinate, plan and manage programming such as International Education and Community Weeks, and others.
  • Market student activities office programs and events by managing monthly and weekly calendar, updating website, Point and social media.
  • Design and implement a variety of formal/informal vehicles to assess programs for evaluation and improvement.
  • Work in collaboration with other departments on Alcohol Awareness Week, Homecoming, Summer Picnic and other programs.
  • Work with the Director to hire, schedule and manage student employees and interns.
  • Schedule and coordinate holiday and break shuttles to Dartmouth Coach and Manchester airport and shuttle to Mount Sunapee for skiing.
  • Fill-in for the Director in their absence.
  • Fulfill other duties and projects as assigned by the Director. Additional Information Help for Additional Information.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience in student activities, student affairs or higher education preferred.
  • Ability and availability to work numerous evenings and weekends throughout the year.
  • Excellent budget and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to take initiative and think independently and work autonomously.
