Overview We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Recreation Activities Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and lead engaging recreational activities tailored to the needs of residents with diverse abilities. Your enthusiasm will help create a lively, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for individuals in our care. Responsibilities Plan and organize a variety of recreational activities that cater to residents' interests and abilities, including social events, games, arts and crafts, and outings Assist residents with participation in activities, encouraging engagement and building rapport Coordinate resident events in collaboration with team members to ensure smooth execution and maximum participation Support residents with daily living activities (ADLs) such as mobility, grooming, and leisure pursuits to foster independence Maintain detailed records of activities conducted, resident participation, and progress for documentation purposes Communicate effectively with residents' families and team members regarding activity schedules and resident preferences Contribute to program development by suggesting new activity ideas aligned with residents' needs and interests Skills Experience in event planning, recreational therapy, Strong communication skills for engaging with individuals with disabilities, families, and team members Proficiency in computer skills Demonstrated ability to build positive rapport with clients while fostering an inclusive environment Prior experience working in long-term care facilities or senior living communities preferred Ability to coordinate multiple resident events efficiently while managing schedules effectively Compassionate caregiving skills combined with an understanding of aging issues counseling and social work principles Join us as a Recreation Activities Assistant if you're passionate about enriching the lives of otherss through dynamic programming! Pay:
$21.95 - $23.29 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
