POSITION
Aquatic Recreation Specialist
DEPARTMENT
Parks and Recreation
SALARY RANGE
$60,000-$70,000 WORK
LOCATION
420 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203 & 21 Cayuga St., Cohoes, NY 12047
HOURS:
8:00A-4:00P; Some evenings/weekend as needed depending on program & event schedule

DESCRIPTION
Under general direction, the Aquatics Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the creation, promotion, implementation, and pro- gramming activities for all aquatics programs, classes, and activities within Albany County recreation facilities. Does related work as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience working in aquatics with one year in a supervisory capacity
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • A valid State driver's license is required;
  • American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certificate is required;
  • First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer is required;
  • Water Safety Instructor Certificate is required;
  • Possession of Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date;
  • Certification in American Red Cross Emergency Response or equivalent DOT approved First Responder Course within one year of hire.
