North East Westchester Special Recreation is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic recreation programs for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are seeking reliable, compassionate, and enthusiastic Recreation Counselors to join our team for our Saturday Escapades program. October 10 About the Role Saturday Escapades is a weekend recreation program for teens and adults 16 +. Staff will help facilitate fun and engaging activities while providing support, encouragement, and a welcoming environment where participants can socialize, build independence, and enjoy their weekend. Responsibilities Provide individualized support to assigned participants. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Encourage participation in recreational activities and social interactions. Assist with transitions between activities and daily routines. Work collaboratively with fellow staff members. Help create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive program environment. Qualifications Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Ability to adapt to participants' individual needs and support a variety of activities.
