Buffalo, NY Job Details Part-time $18 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Basic math High school diploma or GED Full Job Description SUMMARY The Activity Monitor provides direct support to senior center participants by assisting with daily activities, welcoming visitors, maintaining a safe and positive environment, and helping ensure the smooth operation of programs and services. The position also assists with opening and securing the facility as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets and welcomes seniors, visitors, and program participants. Assists with setting up and cleaning up activities, events, and program spaces. Supports daily recreational, educational, and wellness activities for seniors. Encourages participation and helps create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Provides basic information about available programs, services, and community resources. Assists seniors with completing sign-in sheets and other program-related paperwork. Monitors activity areas to ensure participant safety and adherence to facility rules. Assists with distributing program materials, meals, refreshments, or supplies as needed. Reports participant concerns, facility issues, or incidents to the supervisor. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of program areas and equipment. Assists with room setup and breakdown for special events and activities. Helps monitor transportation arrivals and departures when applicable. Opens and/or secures the building according to established procedures when assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in coordinating programs, supervising activities, basic facilities management. Must be dependable and responsible. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED. Six months to one year experience in related work.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
