Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Camp Director and play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children and youth. In this energetic leadership position, you will support the Camp Director in overseeing daily camp operations, supervising staff and campers, and ensuring that all activities run smoothly. Your passion for working with children, combined with your organizational skills and enthusiasm, will help foster a positive camp experience that promotes growth, fun, and safety for every participant. Duties Assist the Camp Director in planning, organizing, and executing daily camp activities aligned with educational and recreational goals Supervise staff members, providing guidance on classroom management, behavior management, and activity facilitation Ensure the safety of all campers by implementing first aid procedures when necessary and maintaining a secure environment Support staff in managing children's needs, including those requiring special education or additional behavioral support Coordinate with team members to facilitate sports coaching, theater performances, childcare routines, and other program elements Oversee camper attendance, behavior logs, and incident reports to maintain accurate records of daily operations Promote a positive camp culture rooted in respect, inclusion, and Christian counseling principles where applicable Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, or early childhood education Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of first aid procedures and certifications preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Experience supporting children with special needs or in inclusive environments is a plus Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and campers Passion for working with youth and fostering their development through engaging activities like sports coaching or theater arts Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude Join us to make a meaningful impact on young lives!
