Posting Details Position Information Job Title Alumni Arena Student Assistant (Fall 2026) Department Event Management Office Job Description/Duties This job is perfect for students looking to gain experience in sport facility management! Responsibilities include assisting programs using the facility including: varsity and club hockey games and practices, classes, external rentals, intramural events, and others as needed. Job duties also include assembling the ice rink, operation of the Zamboni (training provided), working in the skate room sharpening skates and handing out/collecting skates, along with ice and facility maintenance and cleaning. Students will still have duties to fulfill after the removal of the ice. Days/Hours Needed Most hours are nights and weekends for hockey games and various practices. We do our best to accommodate your class and organizational schedule. Campus Location/Bldg. Park Center Alumni Arena Required Qualifications Must be at least a part-time SUNY Cortland student. (taking at least 4.5 hours for graduate students and 6 credit hours for undergraduate students) Ice arena experience is not required as all training will be provided. All candidates must be hard working, ready to learn and reliable. Preferred Qualifications Prior rink and Zamboni experience will be given priority. Physical Demands Some physical labor is required at times. Must be able to work in cold and wet environments.
