Avon Nursing is currently seeking an Activity Assitant to join their team! Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by organizing and facilitating engaging activities. You will work closely with individuals in memory care, and long term, ensuring that each participant feels valued and included. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage schedules will be essential in creating a supportive environment that promotes well-being and social interaction. Duties Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist in the execution of daily programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. Provide support to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort. Communicate regularly with residents to understand their preferences and feedback on activities. Collaborate with caregiving staff to coordinate schedules and ensure seamless participation in events. Document participation levels and resident feedback for continuous improvement of activity programs. Engage residents in meaningful conversations about aging issues, fostering a sense of community. Experience Ideal candidates will have experience or skills in the following areas: Memory care, long term care, and caregiving practices. Recreational therapy or event planning within long term care. Working with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating patience and understanding. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
