This is more than simply keeping residents busy. We are looking for someone who understands that meaningful activities can bring purpose, joy, comfort, connection, and a sense of accomplishment to individuals living with dementia. Our residents are individuals with unique personalities, interests, abilities, and life stories. The right person will take the time to get to know them and help create moments that make their days meaningful. Responsibilities Assist with planning and leading engaging activities for residents living with dementia. Lead small-group, large-group, and one-on-one activities. Encourage resident participation without forcing or pressuring residents. Adapt activities to each resident's abilities, interests, and needs. Provide activities that support socialization, movement, creativity, sensory stimulation, memory, and enjoyment. Assist with arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, seasonal activities, celebrations, and special events. Spend one-on-one time with residents who may not participate in group activities. Help prepare activity areas and clean and organize supplies following programs. Assist with decorating for holidays, birthdays, and special events. Observe resident responses and communicate changes or concerns to appropriate team members. Work cooperatively with nursing, care partners, and other departments to provide our residents with the best possible day. Maintain a safe, positive, calm, and welcoming environment. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Compassionate and patient Creative and enthusiastic Dependable and self-motivated Comfortable interacting with individuals living with dementia Able to redirect rather than correct Willing to meet residents where they are and focus on their abilities rather than their limitations Positive and able to bring good energy into our residents' home A team player who understands that resident care is everyone's responsibility Previous experience in memory care, senior living, activities, caregiving, or working with individuals with dementia is preferred but not required . We are willing to train the right person who has the heart, patience, and desire to work with our residents. Schedule Part-Time - Approximately 20 hours per week Weekend and holiday availability is required.
