Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of athletics operations and to assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of home athletic contests and external events held across BGSU Athletics. This position will gain hands-on experience working alongside full-time staff while developing leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and management skills through real-world experiences. Break down tasks into steps to complete work more efficiently. Ability to work all home BGSU Athletic Events Ability to work in all weather conditions Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification Assist with the planning and execution of all home BGSU Athletics Events Assist with facility setup, conversions, and post-event teardowns Assist with and ensure all event spaces are organized, clean, and ready to go Assist with and provide exceptional customer service to guests, fans, student-athletes, coaches, officials, and visiting teams Assist with handling and responding to customer complaints. Assist customers and guests with seating, directions, accessibility needs, and venue information Assist with and address customer and guest concerns professionally Assist and monitor actions of all guests to enforce rules and safety protocols Assist with and help enforce venue policies and safety procedures (Prohibited Items, Clear Bag Policy, etc) Know and perform emergency procedures. Adhere to all policies outlined in the Student Employee Manual. Maintain consistent communication through When to Work, Microsoft Teams, email, phone, and/or other means as outlined by supervisor. Attend scheduled meetings. High level of interpersonal communication skills. Meet all qualifications as outlined above Must be enrolled in Introductory Internship through your course/program Proven ability to provide superior customer service and leadership to maintain positive relations with patrons Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to enforce all rules and regulations and resolve conflict
