Job Description

Job Responsibilities Ensure the guidance, safety, and well-being of all campers in assigned groups. Assist the Camp Director with planning, supervising, and leading camp activities. Oversee site operations in the absence of the Camp Director. Maintain and care for all camp equipment and facilities. Establish and maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff. Communicate supply needs to the Camp Director. Promote the YMCA Mission and Character Development values. Attend required staff meetings and training sessions. Serve as a positive role model. Prepare and maintain site organization and cleanliness. Ensure compliance with YMCA standards and DCY licensing requirements. Follow YMCA policies regarding record keeping, safety, and communication. Listen effectively to campers and ensure programming meets their needs.
Qualifications Education, Training & Experience:
Must be at least 18 years old. High School diploma required. Must meet State of Ohio licensing requirements for group childcare staff. Prior experience working with children or in youth program settings preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Certifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to write reports and interpret instructions. CPR and First Aid certification (or obtained within 30 days). Required DCY trainings completed within 30 days of hire.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, kneel, crouch, and communicate effectively. Regularly lift up to 10 pounds; frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Moderate noise levels typical to camp environments.
Pay:
$15.00 per hour
