PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Assistant to the Aquatic and Sports Director supports the planning, coordination, and daily operations of aquatic and sports programs and facilities. This position assists in ensuring a safe, organized, and high-quality experience for participants, staff, and community members by providing administrative support, program oversight, customer service, and operational assistance. The Assistant works closely with the Aquatic and Sports Director to implement programs, supervise activities, maintain compliance with safety standards and organizational policies, coordinate schedules and events, and support staff development. This role contributes to the successful delivery of recreational, competitive, and instructional aquatic and sports offerings while promoting a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Youth Sports:
Assist League Administration Flag Football Basketball Indoor Soccer Baseball/Softball Referee as appropriate Adhere to timelines for each sport, including sign up, deadlines, coaches meeting, and start dates 2. Gym and Field Maintenance Assist in maintaining all gyms and baseball/football fields Create a safe environment for all participants Remove all trash from sites Chalk or line fields as needed Assist Sports Director administratively as directed Attend all required meetings as related to HR All other duties as specified by the Sports Director Serves as backup and provides leadership/direction for umpires/officials when the Sports Director is not present. 3.
Aquatics:
Lifeguard Teach swim lessons Fills in for vacant lifeguard shifts Fills in for vacant swim instructor shifts Helps find coverage for other lifeguards Help coordinate Private Swim Lessons by communicating with participants upon registration, matching participants with instructors, and maintaining accurate records. Assist in lifeguard certifications Assist in swim lesson participants and their current levels Follows all policies, procedures, and standards established by the Denny Price Family YMCA. Attends meetings, training, events and other functions as required or requested by the Aquatic Director Serves as backup and provides leadership/direction for lifeguards when the Aquatics Director is not present.

Ability to work efficiently and accurately on a computer using our software tools 4. Ability to support management and philosophies of the Denny Price Family YMCA 5. REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
1. Preferred CPR and First Aid (Training provided by the Y, if needed) 2. Preferred experience in supervising and scheduling staff 3. Preferred bachelor's degree in related field or experience working in a recreational or sports setting 4. Trainer level certifications will be required to obtain.
