Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Community Activities Coordinator will plan, set up, and oversee activities and events for Jenks Senior Citizens, Inc. This is a part-time position working Monday through Friday, approximately 20-25 hours per week. This position reports to the Director of Building and Administrative Services. •This is a safety sensitive position and as such, use of medical marijuana is not permitted.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Experience working with older adults in a social or recreational setting is essential. Greet and welcome senior group guests as they arrive at the City of Jenks Community Room. Coordinates senior citizen group activities and events, as well as support needed during the activities or events. Ensures required materials are available and prepared for events and/or activities. Ensures City funds are used effectively and efficiently for the improvement of senior group activities. Evaluates the success of each activity, event or outing and identifies opportunities for improvement for future events. Develops and maintains records for assigned programs, events, activities, and outings. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors used in events, activities outings, and programs for the senior group. May operate senior group motor vehicle to transport participants to and from senior group outings and events. Maintain a clean and safe environment during meetings or programs by addressing spills, sanitation-related incidents, and proper disposal of food and materials. Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with citizens and internal departments. Perform general offices duties such as typing, flow of correspondence, filing, answering phone calls, etc. Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively. Ability to follow safety practices, including handling of cleaning products. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public. Ability to work independently with little supervision.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required. Valid Oklahoma Driver's License. Insurable driving record. Work inside and outside of City Hall.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The duties of Community Activities Coordinator will be generally performed in a standard office setting with some travel to event locations. The work environment is both formal and informal, team oriented, having variable tasks, pace, and pressure. The employee may be required to stand/work for long periods of time. The employee may also come in contact with hazards associated with outside operations including but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, or snow.
Physical:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment. Continuous sitting and standing, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity; light to moderate finger pressure to manipulate keyboard, equipment controls, and office equipment; pinch grasp to manipulate writing utensils. Frequent side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting at waist. Occasional squatting, kneeling, and reaching above and at shoulder height; moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals. Repetitive lifting of up to 25 pounds is common.
Vision:
See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate office equipment.
Hearing:
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

From $19.00 per hour
