JOB TITLE

Active Adult Aide Salary:
$10.00 per hour Part-time hours: 20 to 25 hours per week
Purpose of Position :
This is a non-exempt part-time position in the Parks and Recreation Department responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the 55+ Active Adult Center. Responsibilities include providing transportation, assisting with activities, maintaining program areas, and delivering exceptional customer service to all patrons.

Adult Program Coordinator Essential Duties:
Safely transport participants to and from the Active Adult Center, using City-owned vehicles. Assist patrons with boarding and exiting vehicles, including securing mobility devices as needed. Report vehicle maintenance, mechanical, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly. Assist with setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up programs and activities Encourage participant engagement by fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment. Provide assistance to participants requiring additional support while promoting independence whenever possible. Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized kitchen and program areas, including cleaning equipment, washing dishes, removing trash, and restocking supplies. Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting participants and visitors in a friendly, courteous and professional manner, including dress, and personal grooming. Communicate concerns, accidents, injuries, or behavioral issues to the supervisor in a timely manner. Follow all City, departmental, safety, risk management, and emergency procedures and policies. Must maintain regular and reliable attendance. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Training and Experience Customer service, recreation, transportation, or related experience preferred. Experience working with older adults preferred. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, coworkers, and the public. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to safely operate a 20-passenger van and a 14-passenger shuttle bus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb in and out of vehicles throughout the workday. Ability to assist participants entering and exiting City vehicles. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Must wear closed-toe shoes License and Certificates Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License and maintain an acceptable driving record. Obtain and maintain Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or equivalent) within three months of employment. Complete the required City trainings, including Workplace Harassment Training and Blood borne pathogen training within three months of employment. Work Environment Work hours will usually be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM., with a possibility for other hours as needed. Work is performed indoors and outdoors.
