About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is charged with planning, marketing, implementing and evaluating recreational, wellness, social, cultural, and civic-oriented activities for students of OSU Institute of Technology. The position is also responsible for the coordination of a variety of special events for students and the campus community. The work is performed in collaboration with the Student Life team and others from throughout the campus and in conjunction with the local community. As a residential campus community situated in a rural small community, the Sports and Wellness Coordinator position is a critical position for campus student orientation and retention efforts that provide needed support for students living on and off campus.
Required Qualifications Education :
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
Experience:
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior. Demonstrated examples of relevant work experience, student leadership and involvement in clubs, organizations, volunteerism, mentoring programs, civic involvement, eSports and other such activities that can be considered to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. Certifications, Registrations, and/or
Licenses:
Valid Oklahoma driver's license. CPR preferred. Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Skills and Abilities :
Must be able to interact comfortably and effectively with a broad client population. Must be able to relate effectively with members of student support units and contribute in a dynamic team environment that adheres to process-oriented, results driven strategies. Must be able to effectively contribute in a dynamic, team environment. A positive "can-do" attitude along with a professional appearance and demeanor should be modeled at all times. Must have a willingness to continually self-initiate learning to remain current in expertise. Should be able to quickly grasp and apply training in learning new skills and methods. Ability to perform mathematical and accounting procedures necessary to project and manage project budgets. Ability to research, analyze and synthesize, determine applicability and then share and make recommendations for implementation. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend and implement solutions in a timely fashion. Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, project management, electronic communications, Discord and other gaming platforms, and an understanding of web technologies. Must be flexible, innovative and self-motivated.
Communication Skills :
Strong written and oral communications skills required. Excellent listening, customer service and problem solving skills are essential, continually incorporating feedback, ideas and requests.
