TITLE:
MILLERS AFTERSCHOOL SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO:
Children's Programs Coordinator within the Yukon Community Education Department
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age
JOB DESCRIPTION
The After School Supervisor is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing experiences for children in a small group setting. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include outdoor, indoor and physical activities. Identify and respond to student behavior issues. Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter. Communicate with parents about participant's experiences and report concerns to Program Coordinator. Ensures aides initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with students. Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, and daily attendance. Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the afterschool program. Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the program and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your students' safety and their whereabouts at all times. Accepts the responsibility and arrives punctually for activities and duties as assigned. Maintains appropriate emotional control, physical health and personal appearance. Performs such other tasks and assumes other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Children's Program Coordinator or Program Director.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field. Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities. Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills. Background check (fees may apply).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
