Summer Camp Leader I & II Reports to:
Youth Program Supervisor Position Length:
30-40 hours per week Position Purpose Assist the Youth Program Coordinator in the implementation of after school or summer camp activities. Oversee kindergarten through fifth grade youth in a recreational setting. Organize and assist in activities for the Adventure Day Camp Program, a comprehensive recreation program for children in grades kindergarten through sixth. Essential Responsibilities 1. Implement daily activities for students including arts and crafts projects as well as outdoor activities. Implement activities from set-up through clean-up, utilizing staff aides and volunteers. Assist with field trips, parties and special events. 2. Maintain a high level of safety and discipline within the group, both with the children and the staff. 3. Establish a pleasant and enthusiastic rapport with children, staff and parents.4. Oversee children in both indoor/outdoor settings.5. Participate in District safety protocol for all events and programs; enforce District rules and regulations Knowledge and Abilities 1. Ability to establish excellent working relations and communication with supervisors, subordinates, and general public. 2. Must possess practical common sense skills while maintaining a strong work ethic and be able to adapt to a constantly changing and fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. 3. Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision. 4. Safely operate District vehicles to pick up children from local schools. Strong oral and written communication skills. 5. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance. Minimum Qualifications GED preferred. Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred. Current Oregon driver's license required. Limited Benefits Wages commensurate with experience, starting at $15.55 - $16.79 per hour. Negotiable depending upon experience.
