Job Description
Overview We are seeking a fun and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our senior care facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those in memory care and long-term care settings. This role involves planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being. Responsibilities Plan and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist residents with participation in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort. Collaborate with the care team to develop individualized activity plans for residents with specific needs, including those with memory care requirements or disabilities. Facilitate group events, games, and outings that encourage socialization among residents. Maintain a positive and encouraging environment that fosters resident engagement and enjoyment. Document participation levels and feedback from residents to help improve future programming. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding activity schedules and resident preferences. Requirements Experience in senior care or assisted living environments is preferred. Knowledge of memory care practices and recreational therapy techniques is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan events effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with residents of varying abilities. A compassionate approach to working with individuals with disabilities or special needs. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident feedback and changing needs.
