Who We Are and What We Do As a Mad Scientist, you will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really all about! You will present awesome, hands-on science programs to elementary-aged kids, including launching rockets hundreds of feet into the air, making slime (of course) building Lego, launching catapults and so much more! Paths to Power, Underground Explorers, Chemical Curiosities, and many more. What you will do Lead and supervise children during camp activities, ensuring everyone is safe and feels included Manage classroom behavior. Encouraging them to use their powers for good. Set up activity spaces, organizing materials, and cleaning up after activities Become a master in making slime Attend paid orientation and training prior to teaching camp. Must be able to lift equipment in kits, can vary in size and weight (heavier kits have wheels). Must be able to drive to and from camps close to your home location with your own vehicle. Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp environments is helpful Knowledge of classroom management strategies and childhood development principles Experience in teaching, childcare, sports coaching, theater arts, or counseling are beneficial Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a positive atmosphere for all participants Schedule and Pay You can either work half or full day camps. You do not have to work full day camps, but the more availability you have, the more you can work. Camps run Monday-Friday.
