This position will lead the sports team, which oversees a wide variety of community sports offerings. These include indoor programs at City Recreation Facilities and Poudre School District gymnasiums, outdoor programs at Fort Collins parks, as well as individual and team sports. The ideal candidate will help grow participation in existing programs while expanding sports offerings to better serve the community. In addition, this role includes supervision of the Northside Aztlán Community Center — a fitness and events facility that hosts a wide range of activities, classes, programs, sports, and special events. The center is especially popular for its year-round and summer youth and children's programs (which are overseen by another supervisor). The Senior Supervisor will be responsible for managing all non-daycare operations at the Northside facility. This position also supervises other Recreation staff to deliver additional programming and operations making strong teamwork essential. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with proven experience in recreational athletics and facility management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive. Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates recreation programs and services. Responsible for assigned facilities; schedules use and maintenance of facilities. Prepares budget and directs expenditure of department funds and keeping of department records. Interprets recreation programs to public and maintains cooperative planning and working relationships with allied public and voluntary agencies. Develops and maintains professional relationships with these agencies. Promotes recreation programs by assisting in the preparation of publications, brochures, news releases, flyers, seminars, clinics, etc. Maintains records and writes reports including year-end information. Maintains equipment inventory, records, and filing systems. Provides interpretation and guidance regarding City policies and safety regulations. Maintains cooperative and compatible working relations. May act as liaison to organizations and boards. Functions as a member of various department collaborative teams. MINIMUM PREFERRED
College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Recreation Administration, Human Development, Physical Education or related field Experience Requirements Two to five years related experience; supervisory experience desirable. Certifications/Licenses/Specialized Training Valid driver's license. May require operator's license for 15 passenger vehicle. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification recommended (required for some positions). Other certifications may be required for some positions (e.g., Lifeguard Training, Membership in the Professional Skaters Association, CTRS, etc.). .
