This isn't a desk job where you sit behind a computer all day. You'll be interacting with people, building relationships, getting creative, and making a difference every single day. What You'll Be Doing Help plan and lead daily activities and recreational programs Lead or assist with games, crafts, music, trivia, exercise, social groups, and other activities Spend one-on-one time with residents who prefer individual activities Encourage residents to participate while respecting their choices and abilities Help organize birthday celebrations, holiday events, special programs, and outings Set up, decorate, and clean activity areas Learn residents' interests, hobbies, backgrounds, and preferences Encourage socialization and meaningful engagement Assist residents with participating in activities as appropriate Complete required activity documentation Communicate with nursing and other departments regarding resident participation and needs Jump in, adapt, and think on your feet when the day doesn't go according to plan! Naturally outgoing and enjoy talking with people Creative and constantly coming up with ideas Patient, compassionate, and encouraging Comfortable speaking to and leading a group Equally comfortable having a one-on-one conversation Dependable and organized Someone who notices when another person could use a little extra attention Comfortable working with older adults with different physical and cognitive abilities A team player who is willing to pitch in wherever needed Experience in activities, senior living, skilled nursing, caregiving, recreation, education, hospitality, or a similar setting is a plus—but it's not everything.
