We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activities Assistant to join our team. As an Activities Assistant, you will assist the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and/or Memory Care Program Coordinator in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Therapeutic Recreation Department. Your primary goal will be to ensure that an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident is maintained.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and providing patient care by visiting residents regularly to evaluate their needs Document and report any unusual or significant findings to the nursing department Report all reportable events immediately in accordance with our policy Encourage residents to participate in activities of daily living that stimulate their physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being Spend duty time with residents rather than with other facility staff Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team
Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent As a minimum, one (1) year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility is preferred We can train the right candidate! Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must be at least 18 years old Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm Must participate in continuing education and inservice training
Schedule:
